The Jaising family has been involved in the shipping industry since 1949, when the late Jairamdas Gokaldas Jaising started his career in shipping by working with his uncle. In 1949, Jairamdas Gokaldas Jaising ventured on his own to lend his expertise in the shipping field and started his company M/s. J. Gokaldas, which he got registered with the Bombay Freight Brokers Association, Mumbai.
Jairamdas Gokaldas Jaising with his nature of perseverance and caring attitude found it relatively easy to make friends with the officers in many Shipping Agencies, in Mumbai and the Mucccadams (now known as Clearing and Forwarding Agents). He ensured that J. Gokaldas earned the highest reputation in the Liner Shipping Industry filling ships with cargoes like Oil Cakes, Steel Scrap, Manganese, Ferromanganese Ore, Bulk Vegetable Oil, Raw Cotton, Rice, Stones and various other commodities.
